Topic: How much money can I withdraw from PPF?

I have opened my a/c in 1996.

PPF is a long term investment. It matures in 15 years. However, from start of the 7th year onwards you can withdraw money, once a year.

You have now had your account for 11 years, since 1996. Therefore, you should be able to withdraw money without a problem.

The amount you can withdraw is the lower of:

50% of the ppf balance that existed 4 years ago from the current date of withdrawal
Or, 50% of the amount at the end of the proceeding year

My PPF account was opened on apr 98. Now I want to withdraw a part from it. How much potion could I withdraw from it?

i opened my ppf ACCOUNT IN 1999,the balance as on 31st March 2011 is 450000. Please let me know the amount that i can withdraw.

I think 1/3 of money you can withdraw from pp.

After the Completion of the 2nd Financial year, you can have loan(25% of amount deposited upto 2nd Financial year) on PPF account. You will have to pay only 1% interest rate if you return the money within 36 months and after that 6%.

PPF matures in 15 years.
