Topic: Will a check to my brother will be taxable to me or he also will get deuction?

I have given a gift of Rs.65,000 to my brother (by cheque) will I get a deduction for this or will this amount be taxable for my brother?

There shall be no tax consequences in your hand, i.e you shall get no deduction on giving gift to your brother. Further this amount shall not be taxable as your brother’s income as giving gift of any amount to a relative (brother) in not added to the income of the recipient.

I am a non resident and living in US for past 7 years, I have a flat in Bangalore which I have let out, being a non resident will my rental income be taxable in India.
