Topic: Can I claim the last year year LTA in my tax return?

I missed to claim LTA last year though I had been on a family holiday, can I do so in my Tax return. How many times can we claim LTA.

You can claim LTA exemption twice in a block of four calendar years. The current block is 2006-09. Thus, during the period 2006-09 you can claim this exemption for any two years. Now that you failed to claim LTA from your employer and your employer has deducted taxes on the amount paid, you can claim the same in your ITR and accordingly you shall get a refund of tax deducted.
