Topic: Mediclaim for pre-existing diseases

Does anyone know of any indian insurance company that covers pre-existing diseases. So far I have found that only Star Health and Allied Insurnace will cover Senior Citizens with pre-existing diseases in the 2nd year of the policy.

Health insurance policies in India offer coverage for pre-existing diseases, however, only after 4-5 years of continuous coverage with the health insurance provider. No health insurance provider offers coverage for pre-existing diseases form the start. As you have mentioned that Star Health provides coverage from 2nd year of the policy is not possible and I would suggest you to go through their policy documents or pre-existing disease clause again.

I have purchased a health insurance policy from Max Bupa Health Insurance after reviewing many health insurance cover online. At Max Bupa Health Insurance coverage for pre-existing diseases is offered only after 4 years of continuous coverage with them.
