Any health insurance policy which covers maternity from its inception?

Normally maternity benefit is not covered under any health insurance or mediclaim policies at present. except through Group medclaim policy.

there are new policies by some compnies like ICICI, Star health which introduce mediclaim policy with op benefits, where in you get some benefit.

Apollo dkv is giving polies some waiting period.

you have to look into the premium and decide.

Maternity benefit an exclusion in individual health insurance policy. However, in group policy maternity benefit can be added by paying additional premium. Even in group policy there can be waiting period of 9 months before a claim can be entertained. Further,even the waiting period could be reduced and day one cover can be taken by paying additional premium.

With regard to individual health insurance policy only Apollo dkv offers maternity cover in their family floater exclusive and premium plan that too with waiting period of 4 years and with limits of Rs. 15000/- for normal delivery and Rs. 40,000/- for cesarean delivery.

I guess that would depend on the policy. I know it wouldn't be a part of medicare supplement insurance.

is dental cover in any mediclaim policy

Ya they will cover for dental also,i dont think there is separate plan for dental...

ICICI health insurance covers dental expenses.

Majority of health insurance providers in India do not offer coverage for maternity. In fact maternity benefit is considered as a default exclusion in most medical insurance policies offered in India. However, few health insurance providers like Max Bupa Health Insurance provides maternity benefits to its customers up to 2 children. The policy also provides for new born baby cover which very few health insurance providers in India offer.
