National insurance offers VARISTHA Mediclaim for Senior Citizens. The sum assured is 1 lac and in case Critical Illness the cover is 2 lacs. The premium is Rs. 6187/-. Star health red carpet is also aimed at covering senior citizen and the premium for 2 lacs sum assured is 9000/- .One more product offering cover to senior citizen is Silver Health from Bajaj Allianz and the premium for 2 lacs sum assured is Rs. 11203/-

Oriental insurance also offers a health insurance for senior citizen HOPE – HEALTH OF PRIVILEGED ELDER. This is specified illness cover.

I can assure you get full cover for 65 year old person.

Including pre-existing disease cover !!

But its fair that you get exclusive cover for cheap deals. Email me if you need details. After all, it is certain that post 65, some or other diseases result in costs for hospitalisation. Therefore effectively, you will recover more than 10times of your premium.

I think one should go for a policy which provide maximum sum insured with long time renewable option at this age.

i m 63 . I had bypass heart surgery in Oct.2002. BP SUGAR NORMAL. NO Illness at present. Sugest me health insurance policy. J C CHITKARA

Max Bupa is a newly launched health insurance. However, since all insurances are regulated by IRDA, you should not face any issues with Max Bupa

As you have mentioned that your age is 65 years, I am sure you must be aware that you are now a senior citizen. Finding the right health insurance policy for senior citizens in India is a bit difficult since health insurance companies are reluctant to offer them cover due to higher chances of a claim.
