A benefit is a health care service or supply that is paid for in part or in full by Medicare. There are substantial uncovered costs that a supplemental policy can help with.
It is important for you to understand that Medicare does not cover everything, and it does not pay the total cost for most services or supplies that are covered.
Medicare Part A covered Medicare patients providing some preventive services to issues like:
Cardiovascular screenings
Diabetes screening
Flu shots
Glaucoma tests
Those people who are getting Social Security or the Railroad Retirement Board benefits and ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also called Lou Gehrig’s disease) then they are automatically enroll for Part A Medicare benefits.

Hi there..

There are umpteen no of policies one can look at but before one gets into all that, it's important to know more about your requirements. Apart from the age group, one needs to understand:

a. What is the cover you are looking for?
b. What kind of premium are you willing to pay?
c. Is their any media history?

Depending on these it will be easier to suggest plans that suit your requirements.

How does the insurance company decide whether a disease was a pre-existing one or not?

When you're filling up your insurance form you are asked details about your previous illness. If you've any such illness, the insurers refer to their medical panel to evaluate if the disease is pre-existing or a newly contracted.

The best thing is to disclose if you have any disease at the time of submission otherwise it may have repercussions in future especially during claims processing etc. so, best is to be ethical about it.

Yes, they have recently launched in India. They have 3 plans Heartbeat Gold, Silver and Platinum based on the cover you are looking for. You can visit their website for more details.

Can you clearly specify your requirements? What is the cover you are looking for, what is the age group of people who need cover for?

there are quite a few options to choose from such as Apollo Premium, Bajaj Alliance Healthguard and Max Bupa's Heartbeat Gold.

The annual premium for all is more or less similar.. between 25-29. Some advantages with Max Bupa and apollo munich are that they both cover day care procedures. Max bupa has minimum exclusions on critical illness.. in case that's a consideration..

you can visit their websites for more clarity.. i haven't had any experience with apollo.. but i recently took a family floater from max bupa .. for a 10 lac cover.. and the experience was pleasant.. they are readily available.. come across to be professional... so.. do evaluate all your options and speak to these folks before taking a call.. lemme know if you need any further advice..

might want to try max bupa. one of my friends took a policy from them recently and seem to be quite satisfied.. they are also new.. so i am sure they will be looking to make a dent in an already crowded market place..

they have a heartbeat gold policy for a cover of up to 5 lacs.

the benefits are listed here..
http://www.maxbupa.com/ForyouyourFamily/Heartbeat/HeartbeatGold.aspx

apart from this, you may want to compare them against icici, apollo and bharti axa for a better evaluation and see if this meets your requirement.

My friends have had bad experience with the likes of ICICI, etc which are cheaper but bad experience at time of claims. Hi Bagchi,
I guess Bajaj Allianz would be suitable for you.
Based on your requirements, I think Family Floater Insurance would be ideal. It allows you to cover yourself and your immediate family .It covers medical expenses (you and your family) during hospitalization. It has cashless facility at over 2300 hospitals across India.it also includes Pre and post-hospitalization expenses covered. Do visit their site to know more benefits.
