Topic: TDS on Fixed Deposit

I am in US for a while and have transferred some of my savings to India acccount. I am not showing any earning this year in India since I get all my salary in US only and I pay all my taxes in US.

Now money I have transferred , I am going to create a fixed deposit of it. My friend informed me that Bank will deduct TDS at the end of the year if interest is more than Rs 10,000 and in my case interest will be more than 10,000

Now my question is how can I avoid this ?. Earlier I was though that I have no earning in India now and if submit some form 15 that will work and bank wont deduct any tax.But now I am unsure so wanted to ask somebody who knows about it
