No, You can not define it. Every pension plan has different features and every client has different need, therefore it is very difficult to define which pension plan is best. However HDFC Pension plan is performing very well.

Its better to have a retirement plan and financial planning done by an expert financial planner, before you buy any pension plan.
There are lot of requirements in actual life that these pension plans do not cover, whereas a customized retirement plan prepared by experts is of lot of value. Its only when you have a plan you should think of buying this product or any other product. I am 48 years old and I got a customized retirement plan prepared for myself from itrust. Now I can see on paper what my incomes and expenses are going to be and feel much more confident about a smooth and fulfilling retirement.

I have heard that HDFC Pension Plan is pretty good!

yep hdfc has the best pension plan and also one of the best health insurance plan amongst the clutter of companies in the health insurance india industry

If you would like get some fixed income from your plan, then Traditional pension plan would be beneficial. In HDFC you can get HDFC Life Classic Pension Insurance Plan which is traditional and normal pension plan. In Unit Linked plans we cannot assure the amount which we will get on vesting. Actually, there are lot of Insurance companies which have pension plan and obviously every plan may have different benefits. While choosing plan, we should consider our financial need, vesting age, premium amount.
